Google Tag Manager, or GTM, is a free tool that manages all the tracking codes, or tags, on a website through a single container, without needing a developer to edit code for every change. It is the piece of the tracking stack that lets GA4, Conversion Clarity, and ad platform pixels fire correctly and consistently.
Every tracking pixel, analytics snippet, and conversion tag on a website used to mean another piece of code pasted directly into the site, usually by a developer, usually with some delay. GTM replaces that with a single container script installed once; every tag after that gets added, edited, and tested inside GTM's interface, no code deployment required.
